Sorrento Community was setup by locals to fund professional security patrols in our suburb. By working together, we make our streets safer and protect what matters most.
We have arranged random street patrols throughout the week. These are conducted by GCPD Security who have over 15 years of experience in the security industry. Their mobile security patrols are equipped with GPS tracking and dash cams with rapid response times of 15 minutes or less.

No. The financial contributions are only required to access the security response and Whatsapp group. Anyone who lives in Sorrento can become a member and attend the AGM.
The last AGM was held in September 2025 in Bundall. Members are emailed with the time, date and location of the AGM.
The short answer is all of the contributions are spent on the secruity patrols. The only other possoible expenses is accounting fees but this is often completed for free by generous supporters.
Yes. Since setting up the patrols, the crime figures have dropped in the Sorrento / Bundall area. The more patrols we have, the more secure the neighbourhood becomes.

The added benefit is that you are able to contact security directly for rapid response in emergencies.
It is best to setup an automatic payment. We suggest a $10 per week per household contribution (or whatever you can contribute). Every dollar goes directly towards security patrols and the more contributions, then more patrols we can have.
The community is a legally incorporated entity and we hold an AGM every year. All financial accounts are prepared and presented at the AGM. Members are welcome to attend.
